The Fake News story that originated about Jeffrey Epstein has been delated, but more have been made exactly like the original word per word. The story’s primary purpose was to strike a rise out of the people who have been following this case. Once the autopsy of the suicide photos was shared with the public many of them had questions about the death being ruled as a suicide. When the public saw the images, many had started with the conspiracy theory that Jeffrey had plastic surgery,
started a new life in Cuba, and started living under a fake name. This is false because fingerprints and DNA matched were found all over the cell, The noose that was used as well was also found tied around him, and finally, the examiner view over the body carefully and ruled it as a suicide. When the Jeffrey autopsy photos came out and the evidence on how he committed suicide, many conspiracy theories came up with him having plastic surgery and living a new life in Cuba. Many because of the noose used, and others came up with it due to all the broken bones and bruises all because of suicide executed by a noose. However, the way it was debunked was by his fingerprints and DNA recorded when he was taken in for booking back when he was arrested in Florida. In the news article that came out with the fake news story of Jeffrey Epstein updated their headline to “World News Daily Report where Facts do not Matter” on March 20, 2019, CBS themselves contributed to fact-checking the theories and also said that the DNA found in the cell matches the fingerprints. The news stories that print out the hoax clarify that they specialize in humor and hoax, although you have to scroll down to see the fine print. The talk show 60 minutes goes into a little more on his death and why the circumstances may seem off but none the less his body was proven to be his.
We are all human many of us only read the headline and do not even bother to read the entire article with the information, let alone fact checks the information we read. Because of misinformation, many of us are misled mainly because we do not bother to fact-check all we do is jump to conclusions and make up the rest to sound more interesting. on the sex offender, Jeffrey Epstein, many thoughts and still believe he escaped without really checking the autopsy and the DNA found in the cell to prove the body match.
In conclusion, more articles should be fact-checked, especially in today’s current news where it does not take much to get a crowd to roar over some fake news, they have seen all over the media. As we are all human, we all tend to do this but as a society, we should be looking to move forward to stop spreading fake news.
